Club Objective
To stimulate, create interest, and promote education on horticulture, the art of gardening, flower arranging, and environmental conservation; to promote beautification of surrounding areas.
Pictures of Millard Fillmore House (c1826), 24 Shearer Ave., East Aurora, NY, has been designated as a National Historic Landmark.

CONTINUING PROJECTS
Civic: Cultivate gardens at Village Circle & adjacent Pocket Park, Historic Millard Fillmore Home, & plantings at VFW Blue Star Memorial Marker honoring our armed forces.
Conservation: Protect, nurture & beautify environs of Sinking Ponds Wildlife Sanctuary. Arbor Day planting of trees/shrubs. Monthly report on conservation & environmental issues & potential impact of gardening practices & lifestyles.
Garden Therapy: Provide enjoyment to Absolut Care Nursing
Home residents by engaging in activities using
fresh flowers & live plant materials ten times
per year.
Horticulture: Monthly report to enrich members’ knowledge of plant material, garden design & garden maintenance. Club project is to grow a flower (Gazania for 2011) & present at future meeting.
Scholarship: Annual scholarship(s) to qualified graduating senior at East Aurora, Iroquois or Holland High Schools.
NEW PROJECTS – 2011
Serviceberry Tree Planting:
In honor or Earth Day – April 22, 2011 - 30 Members will
receive/plant Serviceberry trees in their own yards.
NGC Convention 2012, Buffalo:
Members to join other District VIII clubs to weed the Buffalo Outer Harbor on May 21, 2011, in preparation of 2012 convention.
Hypertufa Planters:
Planters to be made & filled with members’ own garden
plants to be sold at Perennial Sale on May 28 at the
Grey Street Plaza (former Ames store) - don’t miss it!
Massachusetts Avenue Project – Tool Donation:
Members donate spare tools, gloves, & other gardening
equipment to this urban youth farm which promotes
economic opportunity, affordable, nutritious food,
& social-change education.
Habitat for Humanity Planters:
Members to create/donate garden planters.
East Aurora Sidewalk Sale – July 30, 2011:
Members create planter arrangements to be sold using
flowers grown in members’ own gardens.

Oct 10: “Water Conservation in Your Own Backyard” - Presentation
by Kerri Li, Buffalo Niagara Riverkeepers.
Nov 14: “Holiday How To” – Decorating Demonstration for the
Holidays by Members of East Aurora Garden Club.
Dec 12: Annual Christmas Luncheon & Gift Exchange at
the Roycroft Inn – “Celebrating Friendship”.
