President: Renata Fischer

Purpose:  The purpose of this organization shall be to encourage interest in all phases of better horticultural practices and the art of arranging plant material.  We foster measures for the conservation of natural resources and to encourage civic beautification.

 

Club Flower:  The flower of this organization shall be the violet.


Membership

: “New Routes to Rooting" - Demonstration from Turnbull Nursery of North Collins

May12th: "Party Prep, Part I" - Maria Gerbracht, NGC Accredited Master Flower Show Judge will demonstrate how to prepare a functional table for a flower show.

May 24th:  Members will accompany the Forest Stream Garden Club on a bus tour of Forest Lawn Cemetery.

May 21st:  Buffalo Naval Park Cleanup, 1 Navel Park Cove, Buffalo, NY.

May 28th:
Annual Plant Sale to be held at Evanstown Plaza parking lot, Williamsville, NY 8:00 am- 2:00 pm .

 

June 9th: "Party Prep, Part II" - Judy Tucholski-Zon, NGC Accredited Life Flower Show Judge and club member will give a demonstration and workshop on creative flower design.

July 14th: "Garden Party" - Members will enjoy a summer garden party and picnic at the home of club president, Renata Fischer.

July 23rd:  "Growing Green" -  Members will visit the Massachusetts Avenue Project, an urban agricultural and job training program. 

August 11:  "Party Buffalo Style" - Members are invited to explore the gardens at the Erie Basin Marina followed by a short trip aboard the Miss Buffalo.  The evening will end with a meal at the Pearl Street Grill.

September 8:  "Kitchen Garden Party" - Jackie Swift, owner of Rainbow End Herbs, will teach us how to grow, preserve, and incorporate herbs into our recipes.

October 13:  "Happy Halloween:The Gardens & Containers of the Fair Revealed" - Jamie Owens, head landscaper for the Erie County Fairgrounds will present a program which will teach us how to transition our containers, shrubs and outdoor plants through the seasons.

November 10:  "Giving Thanks Party" - Talented club member, Lori Walter, will present a workshop on creating a Pilgrim centerpiece for our Thanksgiving tables; members will have the opportunity to create their own floral arrangement to put into the decorative centerpiece.

December 8:  "Winter Wonderland Christmas Party" - Our Christmas party this year will take us to Salvatore's Italian Garden Restaurant where we will be transported into a winter wonderland of fun.  We will have a gift exchange and "People's Choice Award" for the best gift-wrapped present.

January 12th:  "Private Party" - There will be no regular meeting due to weather and vacationing members; a board meeting will take place in order to set and agenda for the upcoming year.

February 9th:  "A Lovely Party" -  Club member, Jereen Michalski, will present a workshop on constructing topiaries using dried plants from our gardens.

March 8th:  "Wearing of the Green Party" -  Club members, Jane Meese and Joan Schifferle, will head up a workshop on creating lush green dish gardens.
